How will my decants be packaged? 

All our decants are available in a 1mL spray bottle, a 2ml spray bottle, a 5mL spray bottle, and a 10mL spray bottle. Due to supply chain inconsistencies and tariffs, bottle shape, size, and materials may vary and you may have several different bottle designs within one order (reflecting the supply chain inconsistencies over time).

The most important factor that Centered Scent's considers in packaging is security and integrity of the fragrance (meaning reducing the chance of leaks and exposure to conditions that could chance the fragrance) and bottles used in the decanting process reflect this goal.

Purchased decants will always be glass bottle sprayers. Free samples offered may be glass or plastic, and sprayers or dabbers. Your decants you purchase will never be packaged in a dabber. 

Are these the actual perfumes?

All products are authentic products purchased wither directly from the brand or an authorized retailer. Centered Scents does not alter the fragrances in any way. Centered Scents' operates with values of integrity, authenticity, and trust. Our reputation is very important to us and we will not involve ourself in any activities that lack honesty and integrity. 

How do you decant the fragrances?

The decant process involves using sterile syringes and sanitary extraction methods to secure the integrity of the fragrance as intended by the perfumer(s). All supplies and surfaces are cleaned with alcohol daily for sterility. Cleanliness is strictly observed. 

How do you store the fragrances? 

Fragrances are stored in the original bottle as bottled by the perfumer/manufacturer 99% of the time (some bottles are impossible to decant using a syringe, and in those limited cases, the fragrance is decanted in full to a more suitable bottle).  Storing the fragrances in their original bottle supports Centered Scents' goals to avoid/reduce exposure to environmental factors that could change the composition of the fragrance. All fragrances are stored in cabinets in a year-round climate-controlled area, away from direct sunlight and heat. 

What if I want the full bottle of perfume?

We  may start offering full-bottles soon! For now, full bottles of fragrance shown in photos are not for sale and are provided solely for recognition purposes. Sample sizes and decants of this fragrance are available for purchase. If you love your decant and want a full size of the perfume, we encourage you to buy directly from the brand! Centered Scents is an independent rebottler/decanter and is not affiliated with any brands shown in photos and offered on this website. 

What if I don't like the perfume?

Due to sanitary regulations, there are no refunds after your order has shipped nor can we accept any returns. If your decant is leaking or damaged, please reach out to us within 72 hours with a photo of the damage included in your email.  Send photos to heather@centeredscents.com within 72 hours of delivery. We encourage you to purchase the optional shipping protection from Guide (offered to you at checkout). I want a refund. I want to cancel my order. I want to return my items. 

Order cancellations and refunds are provided, no questions asked, up until your order is processed and you receive an email with a tracking number. Once your order ships, I cannot cancel it. No refunds are provided after shipping for any reason. I cannot accept returns on fragrances for sanitary reasons. I will replace items if defective and/or help you file a USPS claim if they are responsible. Please see my return and shipping policies for more details and requirements that must be met for replacements. 

What will my order look like? 

We love fancy and boutique packaging! Packaging themes are planned very carefully and coordinated for a boutique, luxury unboxing experience. Themes will vary throughout the year ad we hope you enjoy each unboxing with the whimsy, magic, creativity, and love we pour into every detail.

We pack your fragrances securely using natural materials and recycled materials whenever possible.  Unboxing your fragrance will be a soothing, fragrant olfactory experience as you catch wafts of seasonal fragrance that we include as part of your fragrance experience.  Scent strips are included for your sniffing pleasure. 

Decant bottles for 5 and 10ml will vary in size, color and shape as we experience supply chain shortages. They will always be in thick glass sprayers and/or a colored-metal case surrounding the glass. Email prior to checkout with any concerns and I will provided you with a current photo or our current glass bottles. 

Is this even allowed?

Decanting is a legal business. Some brands prefer to be more controlled in how and where their brand's logo/image is used. In those cases, logo's may be redacted and reliance upon recognition of the bottle - minus the logo - may be essential to provide you reasonable access to a decant/sample.

All decant bottles are properly labeled in accordance with FDA requirements. Samples and decants are prepared adhering to all applicable sanitary protocols.

I had a reaction to the perfume. Who do I need to talk to?

Centered Scents, LLC is not liable for any reactions to any of our decants. Like all perfumes, the chance of having an irritation or allergic reaction is possible. We at Centered Scents recommends everyone to do research on known allergens in perfumes and look into the ingredients before purchasing if you have any concerns.

All decant bottles, atomizers, and decanting supplies are disinfected in alcohol prior to use. 

Is Centered Scents sponsored by the brands?

Centered Scents, LLC is not affiliated with the brands shown in the photos and we do not receive any compensation from the brands. 

We do have partnerships established and blessings to decant their fragrances from many indie brands offered on our website. 

Why are my decants taking so long to be delivered? 

Two reasons. 

One reason is our current order volume. We fill in order placed due to our value of fairness. We are a popular decant shop because we offer hard-to-sample niche and indie fragrances that many aren't offered anywhere else at small, affordable 1ml sample sizes. We are so honored to provide this service and to be able to keep it comparatively affordable.

However, 1ml sizes take an incredible amount of time to prepare. A single decant order can take us many hours to make depending on the quantity of decants ordered. We offer 1ml sizes purposefully to make it more affordable for you to sample the expensive fragrances (many decanters don't offer 1ml sizes due to the amount of time if takes to make them and the financial payoff for smaller quantities is not great considering the amount of time they take to prepare.) We place a high value on quality and creating a boutique, personalized experience for each customer. We know you will be very pleased.  

We also offer over 700 fragrances. There are zillions of order variables that we cannot prepare for in advance. At this time, we can only process about 25-35 orders per day as a very small business. We are working on systems to improve order preparation and shipping speed as we consistently have over 100 orders in the queue. Please check our current turn-around-time (TAT) which will always be in the announcement header on the main page. Thank you so much for understanding and your patience. 

The second reason: Fragrances must ship HAZMAT and they must ship by GROUND transport only. We currently use USPS for all our shipping. By law, alcohol-based products must ship specially-marked as HAZMAT for the safety and security of all parties during transport. There are limits to how many HAZMAT packages a USPS mail carrier and a USPS vehicle can carry at one time. USPS will not move HAZMAT packages via air - only ground transportation. All these factors influence how long USPS takes to deliver your package once Centered Scents has delivered your decant package to USPS. 

USPS has my package and it is taking so long to get to me! Who can I blame and what can I do about it? 

USPS. Centered Scents has done our part by getting your fragrances to the mail carrier who then assumes responsibility for them. Filing a missing mail search when your package hasn't had an update scan in 7 days is what USPS recommends. You can file a missing mail search by clicking here.

All packages include $100 USPS shipping insurance at no cost to you. This is included in every package regardless if you purchase optional shipping insurance through Guide (offered at checkout). Please direct those inquires for reimbursement to USPS if your package has been marked as lost by USPS (after you have filed the missing mail search) or arrives damaged by the carrier. You can file a USPS insurance claim between this time window: 15 days after the mailing date and no later than 60 days after the mailing date.  File USPS insurance claim here.
