Hello! I’m Tara Rose, the creator of Stardust & Stems Natural Perfumery and Botanical Beauty. My love of fragrance began early, sparked by my mother’s perfume collection and how she would always buy my grandma perfume for special occasions. I saw perfume as a special celebratory tonic and spent many hours in the garden as a kid, making little potions from petals, leaves, and rainwater—drawn to the way scent could turn a moment into a sacred memory.
That same sense of wonder carried into a love for music. I was raised by a musician and a dancer, and from a young age, I understood art as a way to connect with something larger than ourselves. I trained as a classical singer, played guitar, and spent over a decade teaching music to children. That work—telling stories through sound and emotion—naturally found its way into my approach to perfume. Each fragrance I make is composed like a song: layered, expressive, and full of heart.
Over time, I began exploring other forms of storytelling and symbolism. I earned my astrology certification from the Los Angeles School of Astrology in 2019, drawn to the poetic logic of the stars and the quiet guidance they offer. Myth, folklore, and nature-based spirituality became key influences in my creative world, filling it with the presence of good witches, clever sprites, and hidden groves where magic feels just out of sight.
As I studied natural perfumery and cosmetic formulation more deeply, I became even more passionate about working with plants in their purest forms. I believe scent should be an experience, not just a smell: something that roots you, moves you, and carries you somewhere new.
I’m also deeply passionate about figure skating—a daily practice that keeps me grounded, inspired, and connected to movement in a way that feels both meditative and empowering. Like scent, skating is transportive; both have the power to carry me into another, more ethereal world—where time softens, emotions speak louder, and the ordinary becomes luminous.
Stardust & Stems grew out of all these threads—music, nature, magic, memory—woven together into something both grounded and ethereal, using the beauty of the natural world to invite a little more wonder into the everyday.
